there's some easy way to
make this basically invisible to the end user after the initial setup. Has
anyone experimented with an approach like this? Would something like this
add much CPU overhead? (server is a p233 mmx).

cleanup_crossover.sh in your $crossover/bin directory. If you browser locks
up due to a crossover problem, then simply execute that program and your web
browser should come back to life again (doesn't need to be restarted)

Well, I jumped straight from 7.3 to 8.1 so I can't really compare it to 8.0.
However, aside from a recompile to replace the stock kernel, which didn't
like my VIA motherboard all that much, I haven't noticed any major bugs.

Found it!
Jump over to the Toolsmenu /Auto Correct/Custom Quotes. Then unselect the
'replace' checkbox in the Double Quotes pane.

figuring out how to specify a file to load cookies from, but unfortunately
that option doesn't save any new or modified cookies to that file.
