Greetings,
I want to compile my own kernel for LTSP 3. I am using PXE booting, so I do
not want to tag the kernel for Etherboot. However, I still need to add the
initrd to the kernel, right? I was looking at the buildk script in
ltsp_initrd_kit, and it calls mknbi-linux to add the initrd image
Hi Adam,
There are a number approaches to the problem.
Here are 2 of the most common.
1. Edit the "/etc/X11/gdm/Init/ws00X:0" file
to include you app. This file is used to set
the workstation background color and image.
Add a line at the end of the file to execute
your app. There is also a "Def

I want the terminal apps to boot straight to a specific X application,
bypassing the login. What's the easiest way to do that? Do I need to
cut-n-paste the xdm server code out of xdm/kdm/gdm and paste it into
my app so that it acts as an X server? Ideally there's an xdm that

Hello All,
I have a real quick question.
When a terminal is set to runlevel 3, how come
there is no logon prompt? It just goes to the BASH prompt.
Is there a way to get the login prompt?
using Rh7.2 w/LTSP 3.0
Thanks
Jeremy

Hi all,
I've been playing with a new system, and had an issue...
I've got a little hub that I'm using on the same subnet my main DHCP server. What
I've been doing is disconnecting the hub from my main network, starting up DHCP,
booting the DC, then shutting down DHCP and reconnecting the hub,
I just now tested it, but it doesn't seem to do anything when I select a
server to connect to. I do however get the chooser popup box with a
list of servers to choose from. The interface is quite nice, too. I
like it much better than the default chooser that comes with xdm/kdm.
However, to
What you just need to do is:
1. Allow remote access kmd display manage. Do it using Yast2.
2. edit suse.sh to include "7.3" near "7.1" or just change 7.1 to 7.3 :) (two
places)
3. symlink suse.sh to suse-7.3.sh
and voila, that's all you need.
Good luck

I didn't know the archives were accessible again? Did SourceForge
wake up?

David, in your answer you tell me that the monitor can't handle the the
signal coming from the card, but when I use windows 98 or Red Hat on
this machine , there is no problems with the monitor, so I think the
problem is by
the LTSP, isn't it?
For the other monitor, can I configure the lts
Does anyone know if it is possible to setup a network of terminals that
would connect to the server wirelessly? If so what wireless cards
support this?

Hello,
I'm new to this list, but I've kept an eye on LTSP

Hi
I am successfully running 4 diskless workstations from a ltsp 2.08 host
using gdm as the display manager. I just want to go one stage further
and get the chooser working on gdm so the diskless stations can choose
