Hi, I've produced a document in book class and am trying to get the
table of contents, list of tables, list of figures and the preface to
be numbered with roman numerals, and then the body of the document
should begin with number 1 in arabic. If I do

In older versions I could change this flag simply in the import/export
filter.
But this is not showing up anymore (I think since some release candidate
of version 2.0) . Where can I change this now?

figure/Abbildungsverzeichnis is not enough.

maybe someone can help me to run Lyx on my Windows XP machine.
Installer: LyX-1.6.7-4-Installer.exe
After a successful installation I'm unable to start Lyx. I always get the
error message that a textclass file was not found. I tried the workaround
like described here:

been progressing nicely but today I went to generate a pdf of the

happpened to me, on Slackware 12.1,
I fixed it by updating my QT4 library from version 4.4.3 to version
4.5.1, and then recompile LyX against that.
I've no idea why this helped, but at least LyX doesn't crash anymore.

This works a charm. The syntax highlighting is very good, and it
supports Ada 2005. It doesn't do proper indentation though, but it's
very easy for me to do that manually.

im really new to lyx and latex..i installed lyx 1.6 with miktex
bundled from the windows installation page at lyx .org.Im using windows XP.I
want to tryout the beamer presentation creation with lyx. But wen i open new

problem with TeX Live 2008. The new portable
function tl-portable.bat is very nice, but unfortunately it is so
inflexible that it can only start a console, and not another program.
Changing this may be easy, but it would require some advanced "batch
language" tricks, which is not my specialty.

How does one install scripts in OS X for LyX? I wanted to use the
envelope script. All the wiki says is to "install" it into /usr/local/
bin and then make it executable. How does one do this? This is
different from moving the file to this location, no?

Today i installed the lyx basic installer from lyx ftp site and the problem is
solved there. Furthermore there are some graphical issues which gives lyx a
better look and feel under vista.

Every Time you change the layout you see the shortcut in the status bar on the
bottom. you can use this one to change your layout.

today i installed the 1.5.1 on another PC. OS on this PC is XP SP2 and with
actual acrobat reader 8.1 .
Lyx is working fine there and there is now problem with pdf-preview.
