I have a C program I want to show in a book. So I use the LyX-Code
environment, but when I copy the C file to the clipboard and paste it
into the LyX-Code environment, all the newlines are removed. What's the
right way to show a C program file within LyX?

Program listing insets doesn't follow the same rules. Paragraphs after
listing insets are indented even if they are conceptually identical to
the LyX-Code environment. My questions are: Why does this happen? And,
is there a way to globally preven

Actually nothing at all happens
You can use the listings LaTeX package : it has automatic breaking of
long lines, and it is fully integrated in LyX.

Hi guys. I am finishing up a paper for my algorithms class and I ran
into a little snag when it comes to displaying code and wrapping.
1. Sometimes very long lines are simply cut off (!) Take for example

The other problem is that it's not very "WYSIWYM". I think something like the
following (guess, not tested) latex might work:
