Hmm, interesting. I usually let the voicemail play and let it hang up automatically and then I use the delete key to remove it from the History table before using command-w to close the history table assuming I have no more voicemail to listen to, missed calls to return or whatever

This is the way I do it, hold down the control key and press F8, the status menu will now have focus with the vo-left and right keys, navigate till you hear battery and then arrow down, you'll then hear the battery status, you can choose either remaining time or a percentage of remaining
