Is MI for SQL Server a different product than MIPRO? I looked on
the MI site and did not see a product called MI for SQL Server but the
knowledge base has an installation procedure for it. In any case is it
possible to have multiple clients editing tables with MIPRO if you run SQL
to change all of the symbols on my map
and trying it on a computer here without any GIS software licenses.
Any ideas to avoid this in the future (and I would like to use the symbols I
choose for the map).

I am printing layouts through acrobat distiller to create post
script files. The post script files are created OK but after I use
distiller to create the pdf's and open them in acrobat all I get is a blank
page. I've noticed that the layout background turns to greyscale after it's

restarted MI as well as the computer. Still nothing.

Hi All,
This is my first message to this support group - almost sounds like some 12
step program 8-)
Does anyone know how I can create labels in MI that will follow along a line
such as a trail or stream on a map. Is there a tool out there that will
allow me to do this.

Thanks Spencer, that helped a lot. I was able to determine that 13 out of
893 objects were in fact not polylines and this is what's hanging up the SQL
select.
Thanks to Mike Cummings also for his suggestion, however I had already
packed the table when I first got the error.

Hi,
I am using SQL Select to sum object lengths. The selection table has
one column from the base table and one derived column. The derived column
is specified as Sum(ObjectLen(obj,ft))
I get this error: Could not fetch object from the current row, argument
ObjectLen
The query
O.K.
I tried using the table name with the expression for the ObjectLen function
as Terry McDonnell suggested..got the same result.
Then I checked to see if these are in fact polylines as Bill Thoen
suggested. All of the lines where selected meaning none are polylines. I
even reversed

I am going to change the projection of a group of tables. I normally
access the tables via workspaces and I suspect that the tables will display
according the window projection saved with the workspace. Is this correct?

Sørens suggestion put me onto checking the region style options. I found
the offending table and made the change I needed. After I made the change to
the table (I changed the region style from solid green to no pattern) I
opened the workspace and everything

workspaces was changed. One or more of the layers is displaying with a

The Search and Replace tool is good for updating columns too. ToolsTool
Manager etc. Backup and experiment first! It doesn't require quotes and can
be tweaked to be case

I know how to concatenate two strings, but is there a way to remove a
substring?

Hi,
A number of tables got saved on our server as Copy_of_roads.tab, ect.
No one seems to remember creating these (although I have my doubts) Anyhow I wanted
to open them to see if they are needed or if I can delete them, but MI gives me an
error when I try to open them. The
