I want to buy some new earphones for my sharp 831. I'm interested in
the Sony 268s, but I've heard that they 'don't work' with remote
controls. Is this true? (I don't really see how this can be, but that
is what is says in the Index catalogue).
If the Sony 268 are no good, does anyone
Hi,
The 268 does work with remote controls.
The cord that comes out of the cheaper 238 is about 0.4m long, and has
Sony's "micro-plug". It comes with a 1m extension cord that has a normal
miniplug. The 268 should have either that, or the normal cords.
As many others, I would not suggest any

Jim I have this old, broken 486 75 notebook computer that I use every once in a blue

get it to work at all.

Though I resisted the idea of MDLP at first, I am now beginning to
warm up to the idea. When will MDLP players and recorders be
available in America (they aren't already, are they?) -- or does
anyone know?

When I bought my Sony MZ-1 in 1992 or something like that, it was by today's standards,
big and heavy. It had no remote, but it did have a numeric keypad and a DIGITAL
OPTICAL
OUTPUT!!!
Why did all of the manufactures universally discontinue including a digital optical
output on their

I have a question for you all.
I purchased the new Sony MD Bundle they have out now that comes with the
JE-330 deck as well as the MZ-E33 MD walkman. I use the walkman an awful lot
because it's little enough to fit in my pocket easily, and consequently I go
through a lot of AA batteries.

Don't through out your money on Sony batteries. Buy Rayovacs at Wal-Mart. A 4
pack cost about $10.
If your player allows you to recharge them in the unit, you will probably have
to strip about a half inch of the bottom of the label off of the battery. The

Chris,
I have the Sony E25 portable player (I got it bundled with a deck too),
which also takes a single AA battery. I usually use Ni-cd rechargeable AAs
with it. I've had a separate (generic commercially available) AA battery
charger for yonks, and it charges 2 AAs at a time so I have 3 or 4
I'm guessing new Sony MDLP equipments will come out "on schedule", after the
same interval between any previous generations.
Sony will definitely play MDLP to their advantage, because so many others
aren't ready even in Japan. One would imagine Sharp has some form of ATRAC3
technology (since

Has anyone developed an app that would transmit the appropriate codes to
function as a titler for Sony decks like my JA30ES?

I don't see why you'd use non-rechargeables except in an emergency - once
you've spent the initial outlay (a charger and a few batteries) you're

charged and drained all your AAs 1-2000 times each!)
