I just swapped late model doorpanels into my 124, and used a 3M spray adhesive for the vapor barrier, which was easy to apply and had a quicker setup time than rubber cement. I made my own vapor barrier, out of clear plastic sheeting. I'm very pleased with the result. On 5/8/06, kayoooh @ gmail

I've used a variety of substitutes over the years, but you could check with a body shop to see what they use. Ordinary household rubber cement works well, as does trim adhesive, although it doesn't let you pull the vapor barrier off and re-stick it like the factory stuff does.
