Hoses and connections appear dry. Pulley is dry.
Fluid drips on ground is just inside of left front wheel. ???

The logical places for the pump to leak are at the hose connections or at the
input shaft

I don't drive the car much anymore, so it sits a lot between short trips.
The steering fluid definately drips off from somwhere behind or underneauth
the PSP. Everithing I can see is dry, including the steering gear box.
I heard somewhere that there is a cover plate on the backside of the pump

You have at least two glow plugs bad, maybe more. It's possible the
fuse has cracked (they do, with age), but I'd guess you have more
than one bad GP, too.
Fix the fuse, but check all six GP for resistance to ground, should
be 0.8 ohm. If one or more are bad (open or very high -- or
I would guess weak governor return springs, I'm sure that's what
makes mine surge -- could also be bad compression, I guess, but the
300,000 miles plus makes me think weak springs.

temp fix.

to the GPs off the relay. Test each pin in the plug to ground. As
