My Indy reports that my red '84 190D has fired up and runs fine.
This is the one I bought with a "broken timing chain" for $250. It
turned out the timing chain cover was broken. I got a $100
replacement that has a loose (mostly stripped) belt tensioner

Full heat, no AC and no blower is a blown fuse for the climate control.
If it blows again, check the current draw to the AC clutch coil.

crankshaft are different between the earlier engines and the '85. IIRC, the
'85 is larger. You'd have to use a TC from a pre-'85 engine if you swapped
in an earlier engine.

gassers, you're a Compression Ignition Man now!) as well as catch-up on
things like valve adjustments, Italian tune-ups, check the timing chain
stretch, fresh fuel filters/air filter, etc etc.
