We do that with the camp shower at camp since you have to haul water by the bucket. Rinse off, put the hose into the bucket (so it cycles water through the heater but back to the bucket) lather up, rinse, shut the heater off. I can take a pretty satisfying shower with 3 gallons of water.

I dont know what the budget is but BMW are buying our x5d back (I guess they are tired of 15k fuel system replacements). They could not find a diesel to replace it with, or so they said. Anyway there are some pretty good lease deals on the 2018 Lexus gx460 right now, so that's what I went with.
