I have an Echo 2-stroke weedeater and I replaced the carb with a Chinese
knock-off after it wouldn't run right. Been OK so far. Cheaper to just replace
it than mess with it. The quality of the replacement didn't seem noticably
different from the original.

Thanks. What's with materials failures on newer MB engines? The balance shaft
gears on M272, and apparently the cam sprocket on M271.
Am I wrong or did this kind of stuff tend to be overbuilt if anytning on the

Actually, the pulley is a top pulley that connects the top belt to the
engine, and a bottom pulley that runs the blades. It is the top pulley
that is bent and apparently it is an assembly that appears to cost close
to $300. In other words, I really need to try to get this one bent back

Earlier this summer I removed the deck on my 54" riding mower to replace
the belt. I was going to turn mower deck upside down to remove blades
to sharpen them while I had it off and ended up dropping it. Deck hit
the floor and broke an arm that holds the pulley on which is spring

4amp battery. We have a small yard but since I have all Makita tools I've got

A cheap gas weed eater almost isn't worth having. A really good one costs too

The 56" boxes used to be about $650, now they are $920.

A lot of HF stuff is made in Taiwan. You have to read the label. The Taiwan
stuff is higher quality than the mainland stuff.

the way to go. They are much better built that what you will find a lowes or
