Had three short days of fun in my hand me down 190e. #4 cylinder is now
registering 25lbs. compression. My local mechanic thinks a motor R&R will be
best route.
Anyone in the vicinty of Albany NY have a good one?

I have 6 on the road, 2 on standby and 1 yardbound snowplow (J20).
I rotate them running errands in the summer, gas up in small amounts frequently
($10).
Keeps the battery fresh as well as the gas. They hold up over the winter no
problem.
Couldn't do it without classic car insurance.

Electrics seems to be getting better each day. The system draws 2.1 Amps
suddenly when hooked up to power, then settles back to a constant .01 draw
(clock?).
Had an odd scratching feed noise coming through the speakers, but that has
stopped now too. Whatever the glitch is, it seems to be iso
Windows are in A-1 order now. Needed 2 window motors driver/pass rear.
The radio continues to play itself. I suspect the on/off switch is not powering
off completely.
Every switch on the console is dirty. Guess it's just driving the bugs out from
here on in.
May run a battery shutoff switch under
Fixed the driver door w/power window motor, but lost the door/light circuit in
the exchange.
Opened up the pass rear door and removed the motor. Have new one en-route.
Was cleaning up the garage today when I hear an electric motor whine.
I look over to the 190 to see the power antenna go up. Abo
Got the wiper motor today from an ebayer.
Hooked it all up and it works like charm.
Waiting for a "sliding jaw" clip from the dealer before I can close it up.
This is the clip that slides up and down the rail inside the door.
Assuming that the same problem lies ahead in the passenger rear door,

I pulled the motor completely and wired direct to a 12v battery. Reversed
polarity as well.
Nothing either way. This confirms a dead motor; correct?

The driver door window motor receives power, but does not budge.
I have removed it and ordered a complete regulator/motor assy. for $39 on ebay.
I'll get back in a week or so with results.

Got sidelined today dropping a 40' tree in the backyard
(pic attached, can you find the Benz?).
I did depress the power window switches (driver/rear pass) while the key was in
the first position. The dash lights dimmed which I will take as an indication
they are drawing power.
The door lock w
t out far enough to access the relay.

So does Costco, as well as my favorite independent tire chain - neither
charges anything extra for it, and both are happy to check pressure and add
more anytime it's needed. But only Costco seems to use the neat green caps!

I believe the paper clip indicates either a real attachment, or a
message sent in rich text format (the formatting info is the
'attachment'). In the latter case, OE simply displays the message with
the formatting so there's no attachment to open.
