I'll add: How? Why would someone maintain a vehicle such, then let it

Well, then I must offer Gump up to the gods of greed! Her rust is
nothing as terrible as this, and with a working radio, euro lights,
fresh carpet, intact headliner, and Bundt rims, I would be very upset
to fetch less than $11,460

Just stay off his ignore list, or you will never get an answer to a
question you post no matter how much you need it, and he knows about
the topic.

So, what do we make of this...filtered hydraulic fluid
+ dieselor do they only mix diesel with filtered
crankcase oil? Will investigate further.

I would not recommend anything other than regular
diesel in a modern engine, the pump tolerances wont
cope with it, it will lead to head and valve trouble
in highly stressed

mix ratio is 1 part oil to 20 parts diesel...at that
rate it would take 50 years (exaggeration) to pay off.
I think that is overboard. Luther mixes WVO/diesel at
50/50 in the tank...
Got my Alternative Fuel Test Platform (76 240D) today.
Will experiment...in time.

I just read that again - the OWNERS manual suggests
gasoline? That blows my mind.

I'm just thinking it was a fairly old Jetta, because it's been many years
since MBz recommended gas in the owners manual, and it would blow my mind
if VW recommended it for a TDI.

Just exactly what is it that you DON'T understand about trying to run a
diesel on gasoline?
