'mail_to_db.pl' in the 'tests/' subdirectory. This
script is exactly what you are looking for.
You can either pipe mails to it one by one as they come into your
system, or you can feed it mailbox files.

I manually entered into my database several rows with high values in the
auto-increment column. I subsequently deleted the high value rows. I now
am trying to reset the auto-increment. How do I reset it to the Max of
the currently existing values?

I see you're mailing the ODBC lists as well, that may very well be your
answer. Mind you I'm not familiar with Mac Programming, however, why not
open a odbc connnection to your DB. You can do it with MS Access on windows
easy enough, why not on a Mac?

I am trying to install mysql version 3.23.26 on my sun machine running
solaris 7. I have installed gnu make, tar, and gcc-version 2.95.2. I
have also tried doing everything that is reccomended for my error
such as editing config.cache and even using the reccomended configure
line. The

Doing this would negate the need to bind multiple MySQL servers running
on the same machine to different ports.
Is this supported?

And yes, if you are NOT using mysql_pconnect, the connection to your
mysqld is closed each time. The 'p' in 'mysql_pconnect' is for
"persistant" which avoids this problem. :)

without having to create the database first? I hope so since I'm not
