Just setup my first mythbox using the Myth(tv)ology guide. I'm using a
3ghz p4, 1 gb of ram, 120gb hd, and a pvr250. Frontend and backend are
running on the same machine. Pvr card works fine when just catting out
video and watching it with mplayer. Further, things are fine when i
record a s

Okay, I switched over to SVN and deleted my entire CVS tree and started over with SVN. Unfortunately, I get the same problem with mythcontrols in the mythplugins folder.
What I did was to create a myth-svn folder and then while I was in that folder I executed:
svn co http://cvs.mythtv.org/svn/

The fry your monitor issue is more one for old monitors than new
ones but it's good to be careful. You did not list you monitor. what's
necessary is a make & model number or vertical and horizontal refresh
rates.
If you run xorgconfig it will give you a place to set up your
monitor. M
When in mythfrontend I hit the "Watch TV" thing and the TV plays for
about 3 seconds (it looks good), then it freezes (it goes back to the
main mythfrontend window soon after)! I am running Fedora Core 3 with
a Huappauge 250 and a Nvidia video card (using TV out). Any help?

Okay, so when using the Hauppauge Grey remote with LIRC, I can't fast
forward or rewind. Other controls seems to work okay for the most
part (Pause, Stop, Exit, Menu, Volume etc), but anything that has to
do with jumping around in the video does not work, ideas? Keyboard

In case anybody else runs into this problem, it turns out that I did not
have 'mmx' set in my USE flags (make.conf). After I put that flag in and
recompiled/re-emerged the colors are now correct. I do have some tearing
in the preview video that wasn't there before, but that's another issue.
