Just setup my first mythbox using the Myth(tv)ology guide. I'm using a 3ghz p4, 1 gb of ram, 120gb hd, and a pvr250. Frontend and backend are running on the same machine. Pvr card works fine when just catting out video and watching it with mplayer. Further, things are fine when i record a s

Okay, I switched over to SVN and deleted my entire CVS tree and started over with SVN.  Unfortunately, I get the same problem with mythcontrols in the mythplugins folder.   What I did was to create a myth-svn folder and then while I was in that folder I executed:   svn co http://cvs.mythtv.org/svn/

Laura, The fry your monitor issue is more one for old monitors than new ones but it's good to be careful. You did not list you monitor. what's necessary is a make & model number or vertical and horizontal refresh rates. If you run xorgconfig it will give you a place to set up your monitor. M

My interim solution yesterday was to use a little bit of that blue painters tape - used for mashing off windows and such - and put just a piece over the top of the led. The light is now dimmer and a more pleseant indigo rather than the laser beam blue. Since it's just behind the front plastic it's
