Have I set it up wrong or does MythWeb only highlight programs that are
recording/scheduled etc. for encoder 1?
I recently added a second capture card (which is working great) but I notice
that when I schedule something that uses the second card no highlighting is
done on the program_listing page

The m179 is the same setup in the fedora mythtv howto by jarod. It's pretty
straight forward and the quality is just as good or almost as the pvr250.

Most documents don't mention it, but Pundit-R supports 1 SATA device as
well. The two IDE ports are on the same channel as master and slave(hda
and hdb) and the SATA port is on hdc.

Alas, Avermedia will only take their card back after 14 days. To save others
some hassle, I don' recommend using the m179. When I had it running under
windows, the picture quality wasn't real good, and I think the PVR150 from

I finally got my pvr 150 working with linux and I can record programs but
cant use live tv, actually now that I think of it I can only record a
single channel that mythtv defaults to no matter what I select. I'd
imagine live tv is freezing because it can't change channels. Why would
this be?

Awesome, thanks for the feedback! I'll set the global 2 minutes
early, and then set the per-program 3 minutes early. I'd really like
a per-channel option too, as I generally record "on any channel at any
time" and it's not any channel that does this. But this will work.

What kind of cable do you get? If it's just analog cable you don't
need to touch the cable box. Just split the cable and send one
basicly the frontend connects to a port on the backend and requests a
title, the backend then streams either the recording or the live tv to

So, I started undoing some of the changes I had made (one at a time)
and I got the first one undone with some success. I had replaced
/etc/init.d/set_ivtv_params with a simpler script that I had seen
elsewhere and when I put back the original (always save what you

How are you loading the driver. Chances are, if you didn't set it, it's
being autodetected. Copy and paste the kernel messages from the command
dmesg between the START and END IVTV lines.
You can set the resolution with ivtvctl, but if you just change the
recording profiles in MythTV to 720x480,
