Installing Net-SNMP from a standard Cent-OS repository places files in
/etc/snmp/ folder, registers it as a service and probably does some other
things.
Are there instructions on how to do the same if I build it myself using
net-snmp.org sources?
Thanks!

Hi.
It sounds like you're running the built-in Windows snmptrap.exe which is
in c:\windows\system32. The Net-SNMP installer puts the bin folder at
the end of the path so the Windows version will come first.
Try running it directly from the installed Net-SNMP bin folder.

The Windows binary on the Net-SNMP site does not include support for
embedded Perl, but does include the regular Perl modules. I have never
compiled embedded Perl with Windows, but maybe someone else has.
I suggest you try using the trap
rol information configured.
It's unlikely this agent can serve any useful
purpose in this state.
Try running snmpd using:
snmpd -Dread_config 2>&1 | find "snmpd.conf"
and look for any problems loading your snmpd.conf file.
Alex
not use the snmpd.conf settings.
Using the winExtDLL version of Net-SNMP allows you to use all the
exiting Windows SNMP MIB DLLs written by Microsoft and others but use
the Net-SNMP features such as SNMP v3.

ll need to compile the extension

When using the winExtDLL version of Net-SNMP, you can load Microsoft
SNMP extension agent DLLs, but it sounds like you want to use the
Net-SNMP API.
