To everyone who had problems getting Venus to boot. I have
mine booting perfectly now. Here's how it happened.
I installed Venus and of course it hung at the "creating
/mnt/disk" message. I don't know why (fate, maybe?) but I
pressed the "TURBO" switch and it continued on. So I logged

Almost there! The login script now connects me to MSN and gives me back an
IP address and MTU.
The ppp connection was timing out however so I increased the wait to 60

separate dir for ttfonts, but additional fonts copied into that dir do

There has to be a problem with installing over an existing 5.X setup. I had
similar problems to everyone else on 2 different machines (Cyrix 686 and
Compaq Prosignia 500) that were only cured when I did a clean install.

when the floppy is formatted..it won't be bootable unless you do a full
format.. a quick format won't be bootable. are you doing "rawrite" from a dos
promt ? if not cd to the drive that is the cdrom then cd to \dosutils ...enter

to swap the default route. null out GATEWAY and GATEWAYDEV in
/etc/sysconfig/network, or use your favorite admin util. You might need to
add a route for the internal network if you have more than one subnet.
