The Sound Blaster Live works very well with Mandrake 6 and Cooker. All you
have to do is download the latest modules from creative FTP, follow the
manual install procedure. For kernel 2.2.9 you best use the 2.2.5 module. To
load the module type

You will find the driver here, getting it to work is another matter

I am having a problem trying to dial out using my modem and KPPP. When I hit

The modem does not respond." My modem is an ISA PnP modem on TTYS01 at irq3.
It is not a winmodem. What's going on and how can I fix it?
Well, it is fixed in the next version of Mandrake. (This version is to
find the errors in it though, not supposed to be used for daily use!)

It doesn't work that way. You need to go to the Mandrake site to get the
Majordomo address to remove yourself from the mailing list.

Hi Stephan,
You will need to go into /etc directory and using your favorite editor
open the file inittab. change the line in that file that reads
id:3:initdefault:
to read:
id:5:initdefault:
This will tell the system to start in runlevel 5
I would be interested to know the answer. I believe that you updated
LILO with the Mandrake Update utility like I did ? I did the same thing
to both my home and office PC. :-)

If i am not mistaken I believe you have to edit

I would love to do that, but I have the hotmail account from a long time,
since before it was owned by Microshaft. The only way to close the account
is to not use it for 120 days, and I can't go without checking it for that
long. I wish they had a way to forward the mail to a POP3 account, but
