Now as mandrake has a specific option to install the alcatel speedtouch
adsl modem, I assume that this works fairly well.. and that therefore it

df -h gives me:

which seems fine... but nearly every day '/' gets up to 100% .. and can
be brought down to 88% by deleting /var/log/syslog .. meaning this log
file

Why does anything needing libpng.so.2 on my system fail to install?
Ximian's red carpet, on attempting to install opera, claimed that no
source could be foind for libpng.so.2 and when attempting to install
lincvs rpm's they failed on libpng.so.2
yet I can't seem to find any libpng for my system.
I can't seem to find a gui cvs client for mandrake that works... anyone
able to point me to a working rpm for one?
