I personally found that a Geforce 2 MX is the best all round card on
the market. It isn't a high end gaming card, but you can still get 50+
FPS in a game which is nice if you need to unwind. The duel head
support is also very nice in terms of
. the nvidia drivers are amazing and are very simple
to setup and use. HTH

Bill,
I notice you are using Windows Eudora, if you are in win9.x, then goto My
computer - Properties - Device Manager - Display Adapters - Print -
selected class or device - OK; do the same with monitor. You will get all
the specs; I printed my whole system. HTH

Hello List,
I'm attempting my third LM 7.0 install, and have run into my first
problem. When I reach the point where I should see the graphics screen,
my monitor isn't in sync. Is there a command I can use at the boot:
prompt to force a text install?
I'm booting from the CD ROM, and my boot

Hi,
I have a machine similar to yours.
Take a look at Intel site (www.intel.com). There you
will find new win98 drivers and Linux drivers for you
get 1024 X 12?? (I forgot the exact resolution).
Good look,

Just installed Mandrake 7 this weekend - the install
went rather smooth (had to do it twice) - but those
were errors on my part.
I have an Intel 810 video c
running LM 7.0, I'm not sure this will work because I don't think
the i810 driver is available by default. Take a look at support.intel.com
for the driver and instructions on how to load it.

I'm shopping around for a good card to run under L-M 6.1. Is it a bad
idea for me to just look at what chipset the card uses and amount of
ram? I'm looking at NVidia Riva TNT cards w/ 8-16mb's. Could
I expect any of these various cards to be supported even if the
drivers are only for Windoze?

Hmmm, any supported cards that acceleration *is* supported, or is it
something I shouldn't really worry about? I'm just looking for a good PCI

Velocity 4400) supported Direct 3D and
The only accelrated drivers available right now are in a commercial package
for $80.
Here are some options in the price range you're looking for (don't by an STB
product that isn't a Voodoo board. They were bought by 3Dfx and are no longer
providing driver updates for any of their older boards.

I know this is extremely off topic, but my friend
wants a new graphics card. He wants me to pick it out for him. I am
sure that he is used to the 2Mb cards out there, so what do you guys
think? Thanks
