I couldn't help about the scanner, but I don't think you're right about the TV card : I have a studio PCTV card, with a BT848 chip. So far, I've been able to to use it under any OS I tried : Linux Mandrake 7.0-2 RedHat 6.2, Winblows 98 NT, and freeBSD. I've never been able to identify
