What version of Mandrake are you using? Also, have you installed the kernel source
and headers? I believe you need both installed to compile the driver. I'm using
Mandrake 8.2 with 0.8.6 drivers. If you still are having problems, I can email you the
compiled files.

You probably need to setserial the correct com port and ioports, then
configure kppp. Type cat /proc/pci into a terminal and look for a
communication device or it may be called just a serial controller. Note the

Rumor has it, a FEW WinModems WILL work with Mandrake 7.2, but
on a whole, no --= WinModems will not work with Linux. Why

problems under Mandrake 7.0 with a patch (linx565a.zip). Unfortunately,
this patch doesn't work under 7.2.
If anyone is familiar with this patch, is there an update or some mod to
make it 7.2 compatable?

I got my LT winmodem to work fine in 7.0 (note: this is a *specific*
chipset) with the driver I found through www.linmodems.org
Complains about module being compiled for a different kernel, but
