Dave - I have an older system running 95, and I was unable to upgrade to 98
and get everything working. I ended up reformatting the 95 partition, and
doing a clean install of 98.
In regards to linux, The mandrake 5.3 install was simple (since I chose a
default install), worked well with my 98

hard drive and used to have Win98 on it. Afterwards I decided should
have another hard drive for Linux. I believe that you've already done
a big step which is the choice of the Linux distribution that you are
