I re-start my computer today. While I try to login from the KDE login
screen, the screen just flash once and seems the X reset, then bring me
back to the login screen. I try to login as a normal user , or root,
both
same. I can login to the text console but just can't login to my KDE

start Linux, though I haven't figured a fix for this yet. I believe you
can get lilo to run again by booting into linux with your boot disk,
setting up your /etc/lilo.conf, and then running lilo.

I am quite new to the Linux platform, but so far i
love it. There is one small problem i have two cd drives one dvd and one
burner. The system always recognizes and mounts properly the standard
drive. The secondary cd burner it never recognizes and i'am a little bit
lost and how to fix this
i found a similar problem with my system and i
found it was the monitor setting. I went and reinstalled Linux and choose
a generic multi-sync monitor in the install wizard. It fixed the
problem.

I had the same problem when installing on my desktop with a 17GB drive, I
trial and errored until I found that the largest I could go was 8000 MB's
or there abouts I guess with the EXT2 partition.

I get mine from a windows 98 machine by using winipcfg. You could connect
on someone else's machine if need be. All of the information will be
there after connection. This is of course assuming you've checked the
web page of you ISP for the information.

What kind of error are you getting with Netscape?
You will need to get your ISP's DNS IP # from your ISP. There is a place to
specify them in the Kppp setup menu.

windows/boxs are just programmed not to fit. Im using 640x480 at 24 bit color.

in console, type "statserial" for each port (cua0,cua1cua2cua3).
these are com 123and 4 in windows. using modemtool from consle will let
you set a link from whatever cua you choose to /dev/modem
so you can select it in Kppp or what ever ppp program you use
also use setserial for changing the i/o
I've had the same problem, and the fdisk /mbr wouldnt work for some reason.
in winNT magazine i found an article that actually gave you assembly code to
type in debug that wiped your mbr
