Mi presento,sono Andrea Sabbatini, un novizio, :-) ed avrei bisogno di
un suggerimento;
non riesco a fare l'update del sistema operativo, in quanto, ad ogni
tentativo, dopo aver accettato di ricercare il mirror per l'update,

Al momento ho risolto in una maniera un po' drastica: dal momento che avevo
fatto dei pasticci, ho deciso di reinstallare tutto da zero (tanto l'avevo
installata da pochi giorni, quindi non ho perso tanto lavoro) e quando ho
riaperto il Software Update, ho colto l'occasione

Innanzitutto Buon Natale a tutta la lista!Mentre ieri funzionava tutto bene (sono riuscito a lanciae l'aggiornamento dato che l'ho installata da un paio di giorni), mentre stasera volevo finire l'aggiornamento ma improvvisamente il mandrake update ha deciso che non riusciva a contattare il mirror(
Credo si tratti di un bug della mdk9
io ho avuto lo stesso problema e l'ho risolto
via ftp co Gftp scaricando gli rpm in una directory
e scegliendo gli aggiornamenti che mi interessano

db of all the CD's each time you start it...
and since I have to kill it alot because it sits there doing nothing, it
takes ages to try

Mine's working well also. I had that problem in 8.0, but with 8.1 (clean
install) everything has worked much better.
Copying the CDs to the drive helps a lot with speed and keeps me from having
to carry my CD pack around all the time. This is on a laptop.

as well as some other patches. When I registered the boxed set of LM
Powerpack Deluxe (the McMillan set) I checked a box indicating I would like
the update when available. Well, three weeks later here it is and with
azzardato o no... a funzionato benissimo con tutto quello che ho updatato
quindi per quanto mi riguarda lo consiglio senza remore.
