Hi, I bought a 1986 Honda Nighthawk 450.I am going to change the oil.
Should I use Motorcycle oil, Standard car oil, or Synthetic motorcycle oil,
or synthetic car oil,?The bike has 15000 miles on it and it runs well.
Thank you for your help. Fred

I think the one thing everyone can agree on in an oil thread is: No Car
Oil. None. Your bikes has a wet clutch. Car oils have friction inhibitors,
you'll run the risk of burning out the clutch.
Use an appropriate weight motorcycle rated oil of your choice. MA rating,

No need to warp your mind with all the choices available or the
relative merits of each. Your bike doesn't need anything exotic.
Shell Rotella T (not T5 or T6) 15W40 is good, old-fashioned motor oil

I figured in amongst his cleaning and air leak checking he'd have noticed a
pinched fuel line, but now that I think about it I suppose that's not
really the case. You can miss a lot of things while focusing on a different
task while working on a vehicle.
