Again, the trick to stopping a recording is to hit the context menu key and then hit the appropriate letter. I can't remember offhand if the letter to hit is s or p, but you don't want to hit enter as if you were in a fully accessible program! Once you do it this way, you will get the dialog

to use the plug-in, go into winamp preferences and choose dsp plug-ins. Tab to the list of available plug-ins and arrow to choose Pacemaker. I've seen the plug-in functin differently on different systems and different versions of it, but most likely you will be in a dialog with three sliders.

I can only share my experience as a former Total Recorder devotee. I largely use a laptop these days, and the total Recorder driver did once interfere with my primary sound driver, so that didn't endear me to the program. If Replay A/V hadn't come along, I would still be using total Recorder.
