I've been using the excellent Reaper software for quite some time and
have written about my experiences with the software to this list.

In the case of Reaper its recommended you install the 32-Bit version on all
machines unless you have specific requirements in your plug-in handling.

I think it was in January this year when I first became aware of Reaper
Audio Production software and i asked the list about it.
Since that time Reaper has undergone several upgrades and I've finally
had time to have a good play with the software.
In my opinion this is the best audio
There aren't any JAWS scripts for it, but there *is* an access bridge
you will definitely need. Get the program at
http://www.reaper.fm/download.php (choose your operating system), and
the access bridge (Windows only) at

Hmm, never did use Midi at all. I heard an audio demo of Sonar, and it
just sounded way too involved to me, and the reviewer focused on the Midi
capabilities, rather than just regular audio editing. How is Reaper on that
aspect, and can it do multitrack recording?

Reaper is fairly accessible. The good news is even if you can't afford it
the shareware won't truly expire; it will display a nag screen that you
can't dismiss for a few seconds. The screen will appear once daily until
you've registered.

Reaper is a digital audio workstation (DAW), allowing you to compose, edit,
record, play, and manage both audio and/or MIDI.
