Hi All, I got my Son a MP3 player for Christmas. However, he tried to use it

I don't recall any off the shelf media player being mentioned that came
with built in speech. I wonder if you're thinking about the iPod Nano
4th Generation. Using iTunes on your PC you can set it up to speak the
menus to you and record sound clips of the files and directories you

I will be offloading lossless audio files on to it, so the hard drive in
this MP3 player has to have a lot of hard disc space.

Pulse. Even the equalizer is completely accessible and it does not have any
bugs of which I am aware.
And I don't think the price is really that bad.
However it must be remembered that Pul

But when I burn them to the CD, with or with out a play list, the tracks do
not play in the correct order.
So I give up! I decided that I should use an MP3 player. that will play
MP3 and WMA files.

Just my opinion here. Don't waste your money on MP3
players/recorders made specifically for the sighted user. Buy
the Book Port from APH. I use this device everyday to listen to
podcasts and other media I download. I transfer the recordings

I don't know about the third unit you mentioned. The biggest thing I like
about the book port is that it is four devices in one.

A very interesting thread this one but (for my needs at least) the
Bookport doesn't seem to be the best MP3 player but it is by no means
the only accessible mp3 player around. Take for example my Nokia N70
mobile phone using the Talks software, no trouble whatsoever
