Sadly, my FA 80-320 mm zoom has started to play up. It can no longer
focus at infinity beyond about the 180 mm setting. It seems to work OK
otherwise.
I'm considering the DA 55-300 mm as a replacement but I've seen a couple
of FA 100-300 zooms go for reasonable prices recently.

above 200 mm and it doesn't creep while walking around. My FA100-300
doesn't see any use.

focal length of a zoom range that it would be correct
at that length and if you used longer zoom focal length
setting it would undercompensate which is still better

Steve, I have had the DA 35 for a year and a half and I love it. I use
it for both macro work and as a carry-around.
I wouldn't turn shake reduction off. That is a poor option.
I have mis-identified lenses (using a 300mm and calling it a 540mm (1.7x)).
Results were a little wierd, universally a little unsharp/blurred.
I suspect identifying a lens at XXX mm's will also affect focus
corrections, if any.

it's not very high resolution for 120 film, so you won't be taking
full advantage of the medium format 6400 x 4800 would be more in
keeping with the size of the negative.

As others have said the resolution seems a little low, heck the Epson
V500 flatbed will give you a 2400 DPI which should net you at least
twice the resolution of the high res scans, and you can get one for as
little as $170 US if you hunt around. I don't know what a commercial

Not in relation to this problem, but I would recommend using IMAP
protocol (both Thunderbird and Gmail support it).
It works smoother in general, and you can avoid potential problems
if you access it from more than one computer.
