highlight- and shadow correction (h/s), and high-iso noise reduction.
I don't quite understand why the h/s influence the processing with raw
files, but maybe it goes through the motions for the embedded JPEG
anyway.

My prime guess would be a temperature issue with the camera. Anyway,
if he has a 1 GB or 2 GB card slouching about, he could always test
the mentioned threshold. A one minute recording ends up like a file of
about 350 MB.

The accompanying software does not support adding of geolocation data
to raw files. Only JPG is supported.
From a first glance, however, I think the data from the GPS can be

Had a look at the Jobo unit a while ago, and concluded that the only
extra benefit it brought was to synchronise GPS readings to the moment
of _a_ exposure. You'd still need to synch the clocks in the units,
and still need to merge the GPS and image data in a computer to find
out _which_ exposure.
