I disagree. FF digital format is simply
24x36mm sensor. Its just as valid as
APS digital, maybe even more so because
the registration distance on most DSLRs
today is just a left over from FF body designs
so they could use legacy lenses and is

No trig. is needed for this kind of calculation.
If you know object size and distance, then all you
need to know is that the object distance/object size = focal

Solving the equation, focal length needed = (object distance/object

I dont know how you guys cant like the A lenses either.
They are plastic for the most part too, have terrible feel
compared to the earlier K/M and screw lenses. They also have a
far more common problem rate with the focus mechanisms
than any of the eariler lenses. I dont like the A series
lenses
You can buy stereo outboard compressor/limiters. I have one.
Mine is made by ( or branded ) DBX. It only cost me
about a $100 on ebay. I bought mine so I could watch
movies late late night with the sound at very low
volume as to not disturb the neighbors in my building.
If you try this without a
If you want something to do what you want to
do, then you are going to have to take steps
to get it done. Of course its not going
to be something so basic simple as plug in to your set
form.

I just got a near mint 28mm F2.0 SMC Pentax (K series)
lens in the mail today. I didnt even know
these existed til today, I thought I was buying the
SMC-M version which is totally different
but wow, this is awesome. According to Boz
site, it even has floating elements similar
to the excellent
Basic trigonometry. God, even the numbers
are the easiest possible to calculate
(dont even need a calculator for that
baby). You need a 90 degree
lens horizontally to just cover
the object. The way to calculate f.l.
is to use same ratios of film/sensor size
to focal length as object size to object
Isn't it ironic?, I found one and wasn't even looking!
How's that for fate? I didnt even know that a K28/2
existed, I always thought the first 28mm F2 lens Pentax ever
made was the M version. I need to study up on K series
lenses because these could quite possibly be the most
collectable series
14mm will not be wide enough, you need
12mm maximum for APS based on the 2/3
f.l. factor vs. the 18mm FF lens.

the numbers you gave call for a 12mm lens. If they
are correct, then 14mm wont work. Dont forget,
12 vs 14 for a Pentax DSLR is the same as 24mm vs 28mm
for FF. They are signifigantly different angles
at that range on a Pentax DSLR. 2mm can make the
difference between working and not working when
Used Pentax lenses, both M42 and K mount have
risen dramatically only in the last year
or so on ebay. Their DSLRS have been
out much longer than that. I think what
is happening is the overall population of the
DSLR cameras has now finally gotten
signifigant relative to the population of used
The 645D body, lenses, cost, and production numbers will
be lower than a FF DSLR body would so whats the point?
They are proceeding with that aren't they?

Just another advantage for putting IS in the lenses,
rather than he body. If what your saying is true,
and it sounds like it could be, how does the current
SR work with the current lenses that are only designed
to cover APS? Do you have to use only FF lenses to use
SR on the current APS format
