I expected to use much less than half, and I have essentially stopped
using film.

I thought I'd only use BW film and sometimes Velvia. I had recently bought a

1b): Yes it did - but scaled down (less film use than expected)
2): Yes, I ended up buying a AF wideangle zoom.

I figured my 35mm film use would be cut in half, and that would be the more
specific types of film - BW primarily. I already had a 3.3. diigcam and
figured that a good deal of the transition was already complete.

I guess I am a little unique in this survey. I was shooting only 67
film prior to getting the DSLR. I got the DSLR knowing that I would
only be able to afford it or my 67 kit (2 67ii bodies and a bunch of
lenses). I ended keeping the D and selling the 67 kit to pay for the

Did your subsequent actual film use match your prior expectations?
I haven't shot film since September 2003. I may again if I get back to
the Sahel. I won't chance the D there. One or both 1p bodies would go
with me.

After - about 75% digital, 25% film.
No new lenses due to digital.

I thought mine would be
1. Occasional... Slide only (was 99% slide before as well)
2. I was surprised at how quickly I forgot about film. Still eying 6x7
format though.
3. Just purchased an FA 31/1.8 Limited for a normal view lens.

I expected my film usage to become occasional (but not as rare as it
has become!)
I have bought new D lenses, the 14mm and the 16-45. If Pentax makes
some more quality lenses (i.e., good glass, constant aperture, 4.0 or
faster) I will probably buy those as well.

When I bought my first *istD a little over a year ago, I thought my 35mm film
use would become occasional and that my 6x7 film use would be halved. For the
first shoot I did after buying the *istD I took my 6x7 kit along. It never came
