G'day Pål,
You probably don't know me, I'm a relatively recent subscriber.
The only reference I've seen to this camera was hidden in the Nikon to
abandon Film thread of a couple of weeks ago. Tanya wrote:

Now I wish I had kept the source of my mis-information. I have no idea
who it was.
Oh well. That's disconcerting, because if it had been true, it would
have exposed something about the M bayo lens of which I was unaware, and
#2, possibly impact any decision to purchase a *ist.
I just visited

I am very confused myself with this thread, but I think that by M they
mean M42.

I thought it wouldn't meter with K and M lenses (like the first firmware

Unlikely for the IS lenses. I'll bet that Pentax will go with the in-camera
stabilization by moving the sensor like Minolta-Konica. This is a much easier
approach compared with replacing the entire lens line. I now this does nothing for
film, but Pentax just can' afford to invest much in

Want a future collectible? Buy an *ist (not the digital).
It'll go down in history as the last 35mm film SLR from Pentax.

How about an M to K adapter?
And it would do what? g

Never heard of such a thing.
If there's enough interest, I could knock up a K-to-EOS-to-M adapter.

Well, at least Pentax apparently plans to continue the MZ-s in one form or another for
awhile longer. Why else bother with upgrading the battery grip? I too think it is the
last higher end Pentax
I may have missed something. When was this new battery grip announced? Is
there a link?
Thank you

What I would most like to see on it is some form of aperture control

But apparently, the last of the SLR range will be out soon and it is the
MZ-S Limited.
It is the slightly cosmetically improved MZ-S with the previously
plastic back changed
Nice try Andy, but there is one problem. Like all other Pentax AF cameras,
the back was designed to be thick plastic. I don't see how they could turn
it into a metal back (also the seal) w/o significant modification to the
body itself. Certainly not typical Pentax way. :-)

Alan Chan
My battery back BG-10 has lithium capability.
All the best!
