Atlex is now offering the Epson 11880 for just 8K -- with free

And I'd love to have the business needed to support the outlay for the

Thanks. I took a look. I would almost take a chance at that price but
based on the overwhelming negative feedback, I decided I would not
reward them based on prinicple.

Your going to need an angel to help you on this one. The DA 12-24 sells

$260 more than the DA 10-17 at BH.

Well hey, my car died today and the corpse is worth about that much. Anyone

Hello All,
I got an interesting email today...the K2000 kit was the Amazon Gold
Box Deal of the Day. It is/was (gold box items are at that price until
sold out) $399. I got notified because I have an amazon wish list with
a lot of Pentax gear on it.

I didn't find that deal on their web site, but it might be worth asking
about. They do show the K200D kit with a bonus BG3 and I'm wondering if
he's getting the two cameras confused.
I'm thinking about it, but not real hard.

Most of mine are 35mm.
Er, I meant digital-optimized 35mm lenses (like the D-FA macros).
All I know is, the DA lenses I own or have used perform immensely
better than older

As someone else has indicated, it might be interesting to know exactly
which old lenses you think are much poorer than the DA range.
I don't know, but I've been complemented on the sharpness of the F
70-210 f4.0~5.6 and the FA 20-35 f4.0. That may change when I get a
higher resolution camera, (I'm still using *ist-D[x] bodies), but a good
lens seems to be a good lens.

I should like to agree here.
My film limited lenses are swell on digital. Naturally, I should never
want even to think about mounting DA 21 on my MZ-6.

My film lenses are fine on digital, but the DA* lenses are
outstanding. I rarely use anything other than the 50-135 and 16-50
these days. They're fast and sharp, and the USM autofocus beats the
screwdriver autofocus system hands down.

Far less fringing is the most obvious advantage of the DA* lenses in
terms of image quality. Sharpness and resolution are great, but I
obviously haven't made specific and direct comparisons. But as I
noted, DA* autofocus is considerably better as well, particularly in
continuous mode
