The local camera store actually has a lot of bags, but I am somewhat
bewildered by all the choices.
I'm looking to carry an extra body and three DA lenses. Other small stuff
naturally, but that really would suffice.

That's a typo in the DS manual. The DS model supports P-TTL with A-
series lenses, no problem.
Pre-A series lenses used on the DS, DL, K100, K110 and K10D all do
the same thing: the flash operates in full output, unmetered mode.

Not exactly ... the DS does support TTL with pre-A lens AFAIK but only
with external flashes. the RTF will do PTTL or full output. The D can
do TTL even with RTF flash and old M42 lens.
Everuthinf from DL, DL2 etc and newer do NOT support TTL in ANY way. That's it.

I had A BRG 59 Bug with the fibre glass hard top, no leaks & quite snug in

Perhaps someone could try a longer exposure, if you have a spare moment?

Tried setting a Manual WB with the r72 filter on the 16-45, and it was
a no go.
It worked fine with the istD, but the K seems to want YOU to spcify on
screen what part of the shot is the WB.
Screen is all black for obvious reasons.
Oh i was using sun lite green grass, same as istD.
