OK, as there was no feedback from my recent question I decided to do the
obvious thing and trust Michael and Martin's skills and just go ahead
and see what happens.
There was no problem with updating from 7.9.1 to 8.0.0 following the
instructions given at the start of this thread, and it could n
It seems like there is a major problem with V8 for me: Erland's plugins
may not work. This, if true, would mean an end to my attempts to upgrade
LMS as Custom Scan and Custom Browse along with the Library plugin are
totally essential. I have read Erland's comments on the thread started
when he ma
Hello, I downloaded a 7.9.2 package about a year ago to update my
Synology Beta 7.9.1-168 LMS. Then, well family problems, Christmas and
New Year and just about to pick it up again in February and ... the
house was flooded (about 40cm deep but bad enough) ... then Covid-19 and
lockdowns - yes 202
Hello,
as ever I am wondering if anyone has had the problem that I am having or
could point me in the general direction of a fix.
My LMS server (7.9.1-168) becomes unusable from time to time, and the
NAS is clearly working overtime (Synology DS214Play - DSM 6.2.2). At

Basically, I don't want a clock although a very small one in a corner
would be OK; I really want the whole of the 'Classical' information

I have asked this question recently in another thread, and was surprised
to find there seemed to be no way to do this either 'natively' or
through the use of a plugin. I am therefore asking again if anyone can

Thank you both for your replies. After re-reading m1abrams post and
then my original post I think that the thread title is ambiguous at best
and misleading at worst; I was, as karlek suggests, only trying to alter
what is displayed, and was very surprised that there seems to be no way
of doing so
I have used Erland's plugins to give me the menu structure I need for
classical music, but despite many different attempts I cannot get the
last thing I want (at present) to work. I want to change the
information shown for a track (or 'song') on the Squeezebox Touch while
it is playing. For star
Hello,
I have been using Erland's plugins for about 8 or 9 months and
everything is just about as I want it, but in the past few days I have
added 3 new albums with previously unused values in the Genre tag.
These do not seem to be picked up by the custom scan, however I can find
them using the s

Hello Erland,

Hello PasTim,
Maybe you are right, and frustrated rants are not helpful. However,
looking at it the other way, when someone is totally confused, often by
errors and problems that manifest themselves in somewhat inconsistent
ways, it can actually be both useful, and a little therapeutic, to

Erland,
I think I have, pretty much, managed to set up my LMS/Squeezebox-Touch
environment as I wanted; that is, I seem to have the basic structure. I
will add a post detailing what I have done in case anyone might possibly
find my experience helpful, but it is a shame that it took so much
effort

Another hour or two wasted this evening trying to get this stuff to do
the simplest things. BUT, I am worse off than I was before; I have been
getting the 'no matching songs found' message, or something like that,
and now I get the zero response syndrome. I have to say that in 40 years

Erland,
Thank you very much for your reply, and I'm sorry that I have been at
bit too busy to look at this for a few days. I have had a look at some
of this, and have changed my Library specification a little, but, I
think, I have altered the Custom Scan definitions without making any
difference
Next 5 Screen-shots: the first two show the panels generated by the
Level 3 and Level 4 sections of the menu definition (those are Albums
(which I have made equal to Works), and Album Artists (which, for me,
identifies a particular recording)). As can be seen, I get duplication

OK, another day...
This post is for Erland who said he may have time to look at this later
in the week - hope you are not too upset by me wanting to nuke Sweden
earlier Erland.
I have added some screen-shots. First 5 are going down through the stuff
I have set up in LMS.

Hello Erland and thank you very much for your replies. As you have said
you will look at my earlier thread I will try to put up a post there
with screen-shots of what I have defined and what I see. I have not
tried adding screen-shot images to a post before, so here's hoping it
works OK. See you
Has anyone managed to get Erland's Multi-Library, Custom Scan and Custom

I have been trying for many, many hours over the past 2 or 3 days to set
up menus to browse by:
Composer -> Genre -> Album -> Album Artist.

Thanks for the reply Slimchances; it seems we have both set up libraries
but neither of us are quite sure what all the parameters mean. This of
course means that I am a little concerned that everything is OK.

Well, I removed almost everything that I put into the 'library

and it -appears- that I now have a Classical library; not that it seems
to give me anything very useful. I have tried to add something to the

Hello Erland and thank you for replying to my query.
It was very late last night when I posted the questions, and I think I
was not as clear as I might have been. Currently I have, presumably by
installing 'Custom Browse', added the option 'Music Folder' to the Menus

I have installed, on the trial basis, Erland's Multi-Library, Custom
Scan and Custom Browse plugins. So far, after a few hours, I have been
able to introduce the 'Music Folder' browsing option to my LMS, giving
acess to the three sub-folders, or 'libraries' as I think of them within
