Uh his problem is that the OS won't sync with the bios. NTP won't fix
this problem. NTP only syncs your OS clock. You might wanna try
reinstalling, or maybe your clock battery is dead. That wouldn't be too

How would I go about changing my default web browser. Currently it is
set to open Mozilla when I press on any link, and I would like it to
open opera web browser.
I'm using KDE and my desktop through X-Win 32

If you are only getting one IP address at a time, then you're better off just
referencing the outside interface (ppp0, I believe, for PPPoE) you rules,
instead of the IP address.
I'm running off of a cable modem, too, but mine is straight DHCP. Still, by

root and then did './install.sh' and things worked :)
What is the diff between su - and su root?

Been trying to install RH 7.3 on a Maxtor 8.4 gb drive model
88400D8. I get as far as the Installing Packages screen and
the Formatting/Filesystem box pops up and fills with only 1 grey square
and then the install just stops. The hard drive is okay as it was

extracting it from ifconfig message - after connecting to PPP server.
Practically you can achieve this by adding following line to your
rc.firewall script:
