Will,
I don't think it was an rpm install. It installed from their automated
service on their web site. The program is located in
/usr/local/netscape. If I remove this folder, will that be as good as
installing it, or will there still be traces of the program left?

I need to re-install windows. What effect is this going to have to
lilo, and what do I need to do to ensure a problem free install, with a
fully working linux system still available?

All I really want to do is boot from the new kernel, but my boot disk
brings up the old kernel, and lilo is stuffed.

would be
quite a few users). It seems that some people were
doing this with winbindd and pam_ntdom previously, but
pam_ntdom has been pulled from the Samba mirrors due
to security holes. Is there an alternative to use
which will give the same functionality? What
components would I need?

Hi jack,
I did ctrl-alt-f1, it took me to the text log in. Nothing else
happened, so I presume this means nothing?? Sorry, I am very new to
linux, and don't know a lot about how it all works.
thanks Greg

Everything else is using 0% cpu, and much smaller ammounts of memory.
Total memory usage stats are 236m of 249 (with the system just loaded
and my email program open, and system monitor, and swap usage = 0 of 2.1
gig. So it is not using the swap yet, but still running very slow.
