It appears to be a permissions problem. Have you switched users? Do
you have an unusual umask? Here's what my permissions look like after a
build:
$ cd build/src/CMakeFiles/rosegardenprivate.dir/sound

The key line is here:
ALSA: Cannot open PCM device alsa_pcm for playback. Falling back to
capture-only mode
Oftentimes this is caused by pulseaudio being in the way, but there
are other possible reasons.
