The only potential problem is if the shaft is installed via the traditional Ping slammed and crushed ball bearing method. No amount of heating and twisting will get the head off. Most of us have removed heads from Ping putters by cutting the shaft near the hosel and drilling out the bearing, I

The UST Frequency Filtered shaft has no step or taper, so Iwill make the ‘peg’ fit hopefully nice and tight. Just rotate the peg against the running belt on your belt sander. Rotate as you would a ferrule. Belt spins down - peg spins up! That way the peg remains round. Keep checking the

Use a heat gun and standard shaft pulling techniques. I had no problems with mine. The heat gun provides more uniform, gradual heating of the hosel/head and the shaft pulled easily. The other possibility (if you're going to go with a 35-mm insertion depth) is to cut off the old shaft flush

Drilling the old shaft tip to make a blind bore is a fairly common practice. But there's one caveat - be extremely careful when drilling. The slightest deviation from center can result in you drilling through the aluminum sleeve and into the hollow head. Take it from one who has done it. The

Thanks for all the help. I ended up using a hose adaptor coupling for 1/2 leaky pipe. Cut it down the middle with a hacksaw, used a hose adaptor clamp to hold it together. Used RK's puller with a back-up clamp to reduce the amount of heat required. Used pencil flame butane tourch on Ti back
