know which directory to get my mail from [ //var/spool/mail//user].
Is this one of those programs that needs to be configured in the source
code ?

Thanks to all who replied. All versions of Windoze on the network can
now access and run the programs in all six CDs on the Linux Red Hat
server. I had forgotten to create an smbuser account - and I wasn't even
tipsy!
