IMAP slow on Seamonkey 2.0 alpha 2

It seems like the IMAP is very slow especially on a large inbox with hundreds of messages using SSL. Much much slower than version 1. Every time I click on a message it says 'looking for folders' or something similar as if it has to reconnect every time.
