Thanks for pointing that out. So any "documentation" project would
have to contain a good amount of code work. I guess that means that
writing documentation itself would have to be secondary (contrary to
what I may have said before).

Concerning the project on documentation: It is borderline with respect
to the eligibility requirements. According to the FAQ on melange pure
documentation projects are not eligible for gsoc. I am not writing
this to discourage, rather to remark that in the application it should
be clearly stated th

That's a good idea. We should integrate that link idea into SymPy
Live and/or Gamma. I don't know how easy it would be to do, though,
especially with the LaTeX or 2D pretty printers.

How about a web site with an input area, with a link "Explore this
expression", which parses the input as a SymPy expression and makes each
symbol into a link to the relevant documentation?

Unfortunately, the live demo is no longer up, but I think the solution
you are getting at is basically the one at
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=2871.
The way that worked was, in the docs, for every example, if you hover
over it, it would show you two words, "Copy," and "Execute".

than SymPy Quick Guide: the user can choose any module, see the

Looks like Gmail mutilated the URL a little bit. One of the original
links works now:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8pXy4LH0sF0SjNtNlRiRzlRZ1dkQjdfR3N2ZlVKdw/edit
I'll now take a look at it.
Now it says that the document doesn't exist.
I think you may need to click on "Share" and use the url provided there.
