I think I had the error one time. I back-up mail about once a
week. I just performed another backup and that worked. Try

The solution seems to be an urgent move to Pegasus :((
I think your system has problems more than simply The Bat. I've never had
any such problems and by the sounds of it your problems sound farther more
fundamental. I'd seriously consider re-installing Windows fresh before
anything.
Someone else suggested a re-installation of TB!, and if that fails
then a reinstallation of Windows. I agree. But first I'd look at
whether your AV program has a POP scanning feature. If so, I'd first
start by routing around that. Sorry if this has already been
suggested.

Thank you for your prompt help. I have traced down the problem to a
corrupted backup, blame Winzip. I managed to fix it with PkZip and
used the Tools/Restore facility. Everything worked out fine, and like what
Peter wrote, I don't even need to create new accounts. Hurray!

to W2k via an fdisk, and got everything back.

i've always done my backup by zipping the TB! main folder and subfolder
when TB! is not running. i find that its the easiest method. but, why in
your batch file do you call TB! _and then_ close
