Heather, I suspect you have had histo. Most cavers in this area have been exposed enough. Many cases are mild. Repeated exposure increases your antibodies for histo and keeps you inoculated against it. I had an infectious disease doctor tell me to keep on caving to keep my immunity up.

Interesting that you can supposedly get histo simply from digging in dirt that had been exposed to bat guano years in the past. I had never heard that before. That makes it a lot more insidious. Fortunately, most cavers from the Southwest are probably mostly immune from years of exposure.
