Your problem is that you're a female.
Most doctors know that any symptoms reported by women are due to neurosis,
symptoms reported by men are secondary to some disease process.

Wow, I was gone from the List for a short
time and World War III !
There hasn't been this much excitement on the List for
ages! Not since Kevin and I got into it over something equally
stupid and caused a huge ruckus!
I had a neurologist tell me that I was leading everyone down the garden
path, that I was blaming my car accident when really, there was nothing
wrong. Finally after 2 years, he is recanting that as the spinal tap showed
that there is an issue. I think, whether Frank was tongue in cheek or
not,
Hi Anne:I understand your problem. I am "fortunate" to have my SSDI as well as a retirement check each month from my employer. If I didn't have that additional income I would qualify for all kinds of help and services. But since I am so lucky I get to pay high co-pays and I have to do without some

I just went through a few weeks of dry mouth and
swallowing difficulties and also some slurring of speech which turned out to be
an MS attack. This time the lesion was in the brain so I made the jump from
recurrent TM and probable MS to RTM and MS.
But it was really annoying to drink water
Frank tells it like it is.
When I went to ER with my TM attack the doctor kept asking if I was dieting.
That's how he wanted to explain my tremors, spasms and paralysis. My husband
took me to another hospital.

Did your doc say the dry mouth was MS related? I have had dry mouth now for about 8 months. My tongue hurts at times from the dryness. I've had swallowing problems off and on for 8 years and often slur my speech. When was the new MRI done that showed the brain lesion? Sharon --from Arizona TM 1997
I have something fairly new going on and I'm wondering if anyone here has any info about it. I'm having difficulty talking very loud. My "voice" hurts and when I talk very loud my upper throat, under my jaw and head hurt. I know voice modulation problems happen in MS but I'm wanting to hear from
I had the problem in early July and went in to
the neuro. The MRI was done at the end of July and showed a new brain
lesion.
My dry mouth has subsided and also my swallowing
problems. It was more like an intense tingling than pain
really. You know that good old TM tingling that some times
A couple of people have mentioned dry mouth (sorry -- I forget
who). I just wanted to mention that some medications will contribute to that.
Ditropan is one -- I would imagine anything else for bladder issues might

Last week I had the spinal tap and today I found out that the results were negative. Negative for MS I'm guessing. I have to wait until next week Tuesday in order to have a visit and sit down with my Dr. What does this all mean? That I most likely have Devic's and definately not MS?I need some

Hello,
Today I went to my neurologist after being on
Dantrium for a few months.
I have seen very, very little benefit from Dantrium
100 mg. per day. It helps a little with spasms but I still end up taking
Valium. The stiffness is the same or even a little worse.
