Phil, Many thanks for your speedy reply. Yes - it's only from the analogue outputs, the optical output is fine. I don't get the noise on pause/play. On seek, I get the noise when I've reached the required point and then release the FF button - I'll get the noise again as it starts. And why

Hi, I see what you are getting at now, you need one of the hi-end digital docks for the ipod the access the digital data and then you feed the doc output to your dac or of its a Wadia dock direct to your amp and its not going to be cheap. The iphone is a mucher better as a portable audio device
